Dr. Vasilakoglou Ioannis received his Dipl.-Agric. Eng. Degree in Plant Sciences, his MSc in Genetics, Plant Breeding and Agronomy and his PhD in Weed Science from the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He has taught in several Institutes and he is currently Professor at the Laboratory of Weed Science, Department of Agricultural Technology, Technological & Educational Institute of Thessaly, Greece. His research field includes, among others, weed biology, ecology and interference, weed management, herbicide fate and behavior in soil, herbicide selectivity, herbicide resistant weeds and their mechanisms, crop allelopathy and their response to abiotic stress, tillage systems and intercrops. He has participated as principal researcher and project coordinator in many National and European Programs. He has published 51 Science Citation Index Journal Papers with more than 940 citations, and many Textbooks, Proceedings etc.
